How does FareDrop actually track prices?
When you forward or paste a booking email, our AI parser extracts the route, dates, cabin, and original price. We then run that itinerary through a live airline-pricing engine three times a day (8am, 2pm, and 8pm UTC). When the live fare for your exact cabin and route drops below what you paid, you get an email with the new price and a rebook checklist for that airline.
What if my airline isn't covered?
We cover 300+ airlines including every major US, European, and Asian carrier. If an airline-specific search comes back empty, FareDrop automatically falls back to a route-level search across all carriers — so you'll still see drops on competitive routes even if your specific airline is missing.
Do you take a cut of the savings?
No. The MVP is free and there's no commission on rebooked credit. If we add a paid tier later it'll be a flat subscription, not a percentage — you keep 100% of every dollar you save.
What about miles or award bookings?
Toggle the booking to "miles" when you add it. We keep an airline-specific repricing table (Delta, United, AA, BA, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, and more) so we can detect mileage drops the same way we detect cash drops — and tell you whether redepositing makes sense given the airline's change rules.
Is my booking information secure?
Yes. There's no card on file, no airline OAuth, and no inbox scraping. You paste or forward only the bookings you want tracked, and your data lives in a private SQLite database tied to your account. PIN + JWT auth gates every request.
Where do baggage claims and DOT escalation come in?
Inside the app you'll find a Baggage Claim Assistant for lost/damaged/delayed bags and a Claim Filing Assistant for refunds — both backed by a database of 25 airline-specific policies plus the DOT escalation path you can use when an airline stalls. It's the kind of playbook that usually costs a phone call to a travel attorney.
